A Vascular Necrosis of the femoral head:-

  • Degenerative bone conditions affect subchondral bone.
  • A Vascular Necrosis of the femoral head has often been described as a multifactorial disease.
  • Patients with human immunodeficiency are also at higher risk for the development of avascular necrosis of the femoral head.
  • Patients are often seen with pain in the groin, but the symptoms can also radiate to the knee or buttocks.
  • Range of motion is painful, especially on forced internal rotation.

Physiotherapy Management:-

TECAR Therapy, Electrical stimulation, and ultrasound therapy experimentally enhance osteogenesis and neovascularization.

3 main management includes:-

(i) Relief of symptoms

(ii) prevention of disease progression

(iii) Improvement of functionality 

To assist patients in regaining function and relieve painful symptoms. crutches and gait are introduced. Physical therapy focuses on exercise to maintain joint mobility and strength the muscles around the affected joint.
