Tennis elbow also known as lateral epicondylitis is described as pain over the lateral epicondyle of the humerus. Often seen between 35-45 years of age. Symptoms include tenderness on the bony area, and pain while gripping or twisting the forearm.
What is a golfer's elbow?
Golfers elbow or medical epicondylopathy is a tendinous overload injury leading to tendinopathy, which occurs due to repetition of forced wrist extension and forearm supination. Sometimes patients experience pain on both sides of the forearm, wrist, and occasionally in the fingers.
Physiotherapy Management
The physiotherapist assesses and plans the treatment accordingly. Modalities are used to eliminate pain, swelling, or inflammation. Gentle strengthening exercises are done to regain strength.
