Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

What is CTS?

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is an entrapment neuropathy caused by compression of the median nerve. Early symptoms include pain, numbness, and paresthesia. Pain can also radiate up the affected arm.

One of the primary causes of CTS is poor posture and repetitive activities such as typing at a computer in the same position for many hours a day.

Physiotherapy Management

Physiotherapy treatment focus on improving the mobility of the wrist. Ultrasound and TENS can reduce deep swelling, relieving pressure on the nerve. Strengthening and range of motion exercises can support the wrist and maintain good posture, helping the normal function of the median nerve.
